Okay, have read it. Kensei is certainly behaving like Kensei. Ganking Shakespeare? Totally IC. As is the implicit "if I'd had money, I'd have used it to get drunk, not to buy you a gift." And Hiro missing that is also IC. Really, it's just the heart-eyed clinginess that seems OOC, because we've seen Hiro in love twice and neither time was like that. His hero-worship of Kensei was closer to that, but I get the feeling that had the hero worship become love, he'd have stopped with the puppyness.
