Apropos of Nothing

Okay, so I spent some of my Christmas iTunes money on the Original London Cast of Hair, and I quite love it. First off, it's got Dead End, which almost puts it above the Original Broadway just for that. Second, it's got a bunch of lead-in dialogue and even in-song dialogue that the OBC doesn't have. There's a bunch of heckling of the hippies during Be-In (the Hare Krishna song), and you don't understand the heart-on I have for the line "Sex isn't love! It's not even pleasure anymore!"
Oh, and one of the cast members is adorably mixed-up during Walking In Space - he starts singing "Our eyes are open" at "In this dive we rediscover sensation," and then does the reverse later. I mean, he only takes a couple syllables to notice, but it's there. And it tickles me.
Plus, there's an entirely different energy to the whole thing which, while a bit more mechanical (and clearly sung!), is still very much a fit for the show. In all, I recommend BUY IT, FUCKERS. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. LOOK, IT PUTS ME IN THE CAPS LOCK OF LOVE.
