There's no point now, Carson Kressley just danced the dream tango with Anna Trebunskaya I didn't even know I'd been dreaming about. :(

Let's sum up the fears he's instilled as of the latest episode of Who:

-Look behind you so that you don't get killed by the creeptastic alien whose existence you forget as soon as you don't see it.
-Don't look behind you, because The Beast will kill you and possess your corpse.
-Don't turn out the lights to avoid seeing or being seen by the nasties, because if this doesn't let the Angels move to get you, the shadows themselves will devour you.

Real cheerful man, isn't he.

ETA: Every single tag I used on this post not only already existed in my tagging system, but has its own distinct flavor of what I use it for. They all apply.

Instead, I've gotten two textbook derails, plus at least two-and-a-half "SEMANTICS" derails specific to the issue from someone I know isn't a troll, over on twitter.

GODDAMNIT.

(And this isn't even getting into the sexism from the show that started this.)

ETA: My crushing letdown is noted. How magnanimous.

Major stuff, short version: Job, breakup, paycut for ex=found a third roommate.

Major stuff, long version: Got a job working nights at the grocery that's like 5 minutes' walk from the apartment. Spent two day shifts learning cashier since they want all of their night people knowing how just in case, which was good because after about a week and a half of night shifts, one of the night cashiers got himself fired for laziness. Before that I was working as a stocker, which left me way sore after the first shift because EIGHT HOURS OF MOVING BOXES, but since then I've been fine. Night cashier is SO GODDAMN BORING, though. And I'm not allowed to read or have music while cashiering either. I get to music while stocking, though. And I make a dollar more per hour for any hours that are on a Sunday. I have no clue why, but it's nice.

CJ and I kind of unintentionally used each other to get out of Sandusky and once that happened I guess we unconsciously stopped working so hard to work out issues? I'm not sure, but after patching things up before that last post, things just got BAD. So we broke up like threeish weeks ago, I got the spare room and we moved the cats in with CJ. It worked fairly well.

Then like a week and a half later he and the head baker at the place that was the whole reason we moved here had personality conflicts enough that the owner was all "seriously you guys can't work together" so now CJ is a cake decorator at the same grocery store I work at. He's gone from salaried + benefits to hourly and none, so rent became OMG MOST OF WHAT WE MAKE, so we decided that a roommate was in our best interests.

The upshot: rent is manageable again, I've seen the guy like three times, once was when we met with him to see if we'd all work as roommates, and I'm sharing a room with my ex. This is... interesting.

But hey, the town is fucking awesome, I'm slowly saving up some money, and I just signed up for ranger_bingo over on Dreamwidth, so I'll have a boatload of prompts up and will hopefully get in the habit of writing once I get the card.

So, something went weird with one of my drivers, and I had to factory-reset my computer.

I've lost everything, including the sonnets, which is a major loss. Even moreso than the mass of music that disappeared, and it's more upsetting than that I'll have to redownload my power rangers and sentai and the other series I was in the middle of.

Plus, I've lost all my bookmarks, so. Recommend sites?

ETA: YESSSSS I HAVE MY SONNETS. My laptop isn't actually networked to the printer in the house, so I emailed them to m'self to open on the computer connected to the printer and didn't delete the email. :D

My school needs Honors History. Badly.

The department head thinks that mixing honors and non-honors students will speed up the non-honors students.

It doesn't. At all. All it does is slow down the honors students and annnoy me when we get put into groups for projects.

For example, this past weekend I was working on a Powerpoint presentation as part of the classwork. We did them in groups. I did most of the work, willingly. I put together the presentation, and wrote out the notes to read as it was presented. OR at least I will. It's due next Monday.

In the class time we were given, one of the other group members actually worked. She found good websites for information on our topic, and maps. It was a big help. One of the other group members gave me a couple sentence fragments which I couldn't use, thinking he was helping. I don't even remember who the last member of my group is, he did so little. (Read: nothing)

How fun...

State's over.

We got a two.

A two is good, yes, but well... We've been getting ones since before I was born. Nobody really knows how to react yet, and we've had almost a day since it was announced. It's really kind of depressing.

Thenkfully, it's not pushing me back into my earlier depression. But...

At least next year, when I yell at freshmen to fix something small, I have a really good reason to, not just "It should be done because it's wrong."

I do feel a little sorry for next year's freshman though, because they're going to be pushed even harder than they would be in a normal year, and they'll have been told whay, but they won't really know, because they heven't been in band to know what state is like, and they won't know the feeling we got after getting at two after 17 years of ones. (Which is really hard to do, mind you. We're the only band in our class to have gotten 13 ones in the last 13 years. There are only full state records for the past 13 [now 14] years, so we can't compare farther back.)

Anyway, I'll just kinda... yeah.
