Instead, I've gotten two textbook derails, plus at least two-and-a-half "SEMANTICS" derails specific to the issue from someone I know isn't a troll, over on twitter.

GODDAMNIT.

(And this isn't even getting into the sexism from the show that started this.)

ETA: My crushing letdown is noted. How magnanimous.

I got through one episode of that, and thank god it hasn't a massive online fandom like some other shows, because the race wank would be epic, since the characters are, by nature, stuck in rather 1930's British mindsets, generally, even though the show isn't. This is a roundabout way of saying I just saw the Chinatown episode.

Anyway, I got through one episode, and then caved and started Lost Galaxy. First off, I never realized I had totally missed the first episode, so yeah. Second, and this is going to be amusing to only a few specific people who sat through a certain packaged-with-Eva-for-no-reason DVD I have, in the second episode, THE YELLOW RANGER RAN UP A TREE. Sadly, she did not burst up out of the piles of leaves on the ground first, but you can't have everything.

Also: Bulk and Prof. Phenominous forgetting Skull when boarding Terra Venture? NOT COOL SHOW. NOT COOL. NO COOKIES FOR YOU NOW. Even if Leo and Kai are crazy hot. Okay, only Kai is crazy hot, but Leo's normal-hot still. BUT STILL. WAY TO SHIT ON SKULL. HE WAS IN THE EPISODE, WHY DID YOU DO THAT SHOW?

I can fogive Jack for getting the Immacualte Conception wrong - who expects Roman Catholicism to be vibrant in the 51st century, after all, and I can't imagine he'd join up once he was stuck in the 20th. He's perfectly allowed to buy into the common misconception that it was Mary's conceiving while a virgin, but it's not.

That's the Virgin Birth (a-duh). The Immaculate Conception was Mary's being born without original sin, allowing her to be the vessel for the Virgin Birth. Which is pretty much quintessential Roman Catholic belief, except it lacks churhc-is-superior-to-layman qualities.

So... pass to Jack, FUCK YOU SCRIPTWRITER.

one-line spoiler about a delayed realization ) -5000 POINTS.

Otherwise good ep.

So I'm reading responses to the Doctor Who episode Blink, which just aired stateside, and I come across this:

"I'm not saying there aren't plenty of logical plot holes in this episode (no story about time loops & paradoxes can stand up to scrutiny), but I think a lot of these type of questions can get a pass because of what I mentioned earlier: there is so much of this story that we're just not told, we only see a thin little slice of the larger picture, through the eyes of what appear to be peripheral (yet vital) characters, not unlike Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, or more accurately, reading R&G Are Dead without having ever read Hamlet."

In what kind of world do you have to live and grow up in that plays are things to be read? That's just incredibly sad.

WTF did Facebook just do to groups? Overheard at Miami is not nearly as user friendly now that you must click each individual message board post to see it. Gr.

And I'd just finally acclimated to the new search... Facebook hates everyone who uses it.
