Is that even the proper format for this title? Do we count this string of specials as series 5? Who knows, but that's how I'll do.

So, Rusty still has problems with privilege. There's bound to be some epic race and gender wank over this one, and I can't say it's entirely unfounded - not worthy of all-out wank in and of itself, maybe (though it almost certainly still is), but coming on the tail end of four years of questionable content, it... yeah.

I know Hartigan was meant to be a non-feminist "Feminist," but not only is it very easy to miss that the way she's presented, it's also easy, even catching that, to read her as a criticism of women rather than a certain, criticism-worthy kind.

And let's not start with Rosita. The intent was clear, the criticism of contemporary-to-the-plot views of race was clear. The fact that you can't just take a previously-white character and hand it to a black actress without checking for unfortunate implications is also very clear.

Mostly, though, GIANT STEAMPUNK CYBERMAN VS HOT-AIR BALLOONIST DOCTOR, FIGHT!

Also, script issues aside, good performances all-round. Good show, Beeb.
