(I've been sitting here going "why is that plane taking like 20 minutes to fly past?" before it went click and the sound changed and I realized it was the dishwasher in the apartment above me.)
In other news, since late February I've been training for the last between a half-hour and two-hours of my shift (depending on how much work needed done in my what-I-was-hired-to-do job) training with the woman who works with the vendors who come to the store.
It took me about two hours to be better at it than the guy they had doing Saturdays, but since that was his only shift and he was going back and forth on wanting to quit and not, they waited until he actually quit for me to replace him, which meant that I started last Saturday.
Which, BONUS, is on top of the four shifts a week I've already been working. It doesn't quite take me to 40 hours, because they didn't change any of my other shifts, which include a Saturday night, and they wanted to give me time to sleep between, but I also like having that time to sleep between.
Plus, once the woman training me gets me trained for the additional stuff she does as the full-time person, and either quits or takes a different position in the store (which is supposed to be soon...ish), I get to be full-time.
More importantly, I get a WEEKEND. TWO days off, IN A ROW. EVERY WEEK. Management could drag their feet getting my full-time status, and I'd still be happy. (Less happy, but happy.)
Also, the bookstore asked for my availability during their end-of-semester business. I haven't heard back, but they should probably find something for me, since I'm not less available than when I worked there. Hopefully, I get kept on for summer, since I live in town, but that is definitely uncertain.
Still. Money isn't the GOD-AWFUL that it once was (I finally put my foot down on a food budget and am saving money every week OMG, but that's helped a lot by the extra six hours on the paycheck a week, too), and I should be getting some assistance soon, though I don't know how much quite yet.
