Wait, wait, wait! I thought Falwell was the guy who said The World Trade Center fell because god was angry at... well, at you. Shouldn't he be right up WBC's alley?

This news makes me giddy. The way Phelps slams Falwell actually makes the ol' dead bastard sound like a swell fella. The same way Sean Hannity looked like a knight in shining armor when he interviewed Shirley. The relativism is shocking.

If I were God, a mighty hand would descend from the heavens to give Mr. Phelps a big fat bitch-slap. Not because he's an ass- too many of those to smite these days- but because he's basically calling God the biggest douchebag there ever what was. I'm pretty sure some of their (suspiciously brightly-colored) signs actually say "God is a terrorist."

Sadly, I don't think this'll start a fundamentalist shuffle. The Westboro Baptist Church isn't mainstream enough with their hatred to garner any support; ultra-conservatives have plenty of tolerance for hate, but they don't take kindly to celebrating dead soldiers. Falwell's posse will squash them flat in no time.

Indeed, Falwell is that guy. That's why this is so fundamentally awesome. (See what I did there?) Now, fundies will start seeing that wait a sec, there are factions withing our cause? NO! WE MUST ALL AGREE. HATE ON YOU, DISAGREERS. ETC, ETC, DISTRACTIONS AND INFIGHTING AHOY.

Plus, there's gonna be some scuffle to pick up Falwell's mantle as guy-in-charge-of-fundies (not that he exactly was, mind, but he founded the Moral Majority [which, ironically, was neither], ferchrissake.), and that's just gonna make things worse/better.

I'm pretty sure that "fag enablers" are people who don't go out of their way to hate on gay people. The latter are more... rabid converter-types who really are a blight on humanity no matter your stance on gay people in general.
