A friendly note: It may seem like a good idea to throw some soy sauce in with the rice water when it cooks. It's not.

Also: I now have vanilla and hazelnut syrups for using with my new espresso machine. :DDD

Why? Adding stuff to the rice has never hurt anything for me. Cooking it in coconut milk or roasted red pepper soup has yielded some of my best pots of rice ever, and throwing cilantro or cardamom pods was at worst ineffective.

Except for when I cooked some thai long grain sweet rice (the stickiest rice I've ever seen) in pomegranate and blueberry juice.

I'm not against cooking rice in things that aren't just water, this just turned out disgusting.
